As you walk the road from the upper lake in Glendalough to the Miners village you are passing though an amazing and beautiful valley. On your left as you walk around the lake you face a huge valley wall and cliffs which is the Spinc ridge. As you come to the end of the lake where the Glenealo river flows in there is a beautiful more gentle area of sloping tree lines that ends with the cliff slopes.

I love this place, it is beautiful, peaceful and seems to hold a lot of history in the feeling you get here. Its a timeless place and you cant help reflect the history of those that would have walked this road in the times of the mine being active and before that in early history with the community of monks that lived here. Its an awesome feeling being here and painting alone with the goats and deer.
