This Plein air painting was done on site on the South Great Wall in Dublin city looking back towards the city.

The Poolbeg chimneys belong to the now closed power station which in its day powered most of Dublin city. The chimneys and structure and are now listed and protected and are more commonly known as the pigeon house to Dubliners.

This is a really wonderful area for painting and continues to be an area that I come back to due to the history and inspiration it gives me. These chimneys are incredibly important landmarks of the city and can be seen from most of the city but also from many of the mountain treks that surround Dublin. You can see them in my painting from Bray Head for example.

Artwork Details

I use artist grade materials for all my work to guarantee colour vibrancy over time. All paintings are varnished to protect the work using a satin varnish which results in a semi gloss finish.

Original paintings come framed unless otherwise stated.
