This piece was painted on location plein-air in the beautiful Oak Glen in Glencree, Wicklow. The Oak Glen is a project started in 1990 to replant an Oak forest in the Glencree valley where there was a Royal Oak forest in the 13th century. It's a very special place and well worth visiting for a hike in Wicklow. The spot here where I painted is at a lovely bend in the Glencree river. With the overhanging trees it has a very closed in feel where the trees and ground foliage merge together.

Artwork Details

I use artist grade materials for all my work to guarantee colour vibrancy over time. All paintings are varnished to protect the work using a satin varnish which results in a semi gloss finish.
