Limited Edition Fine Art print of the Forest Track, the Scalp. Choose from two sizes, framed or unframed. Both print sizes are limited to a run of 50 and come with a certificate of authenticity.

This is one of a number of pieces painted plein-air on site at the beautiful Forest area of Barnaslingan which is a large hill area in Dublin. The Scalp is a very narrow glacial valley that was gouged out here during the ice age. As you walk the forest loop you ascend this track until you come out on top. The Scalp is now in front of you with a drop that connects to the road far below that leads to Enniskerry. The granite sides are full of massive boulders, many of which have fallen down the steep sides of the valley over time. The Scalp comes from the Irish 'An Scailp' which means chasm, it's a really interesting place and one of my go to places for plein air painting sessions.

This spot here is on the track that goes up to the top of the hill and outcrops in the Barnaslingan forest, I painted the view looking down the track where the light in the forest was full of subtle greens.
