This piece was painted on location high up on the Spinc looking towards the highest point of the famous trail in Glendalough. One of my favourite places to work, in autumn 2024 the trail was due to close for a period to upgrade the famous boardwalk of sleepers with a new pathway of stone. In the week before the closure I wanted to paint this view for a last time with the old sleeper boardwalk in place to remember it for myself as I knew the new track would forever change the look of this section of the Spinc trail.
The Spinc has since reopened with its new track. The new track is fantastic for walkers and has made this beautiful place a bit more accessible to those not comfortable balancing or walking on a narrow boardwalk. I'm glad I recorded the view at that time before it changed so I have this now.

Artwork Details
I use artist grade materials for all my work to guarantee colour vibrancy over time. All paintings are varnished to protect the work using a satin varnish which results in a semi gloss finish.
Original paintings come framed unless otherwise stated.
