I painted this plein air at Lough Dan in Wicklow, it was a scorching day in the Wicklow mountains and wanted to capture that heat in the picture.

This is the view from the valley floor that the river Inchavore flows through into the lake and is looking back up towards the track that takes you down to the valley and this spot. This track will lead you up towards Kanturk mountain. You can see another painting from this same valley in Lough Dan here.
